Solo Recital tribute to the legendary Italian pianist-composer Ferruccio Busoni. I will perform the composer’s autobiographical Seven Elegies (1905), as well as his adapted edition of the six Paganini Etudes of Franz Liszt.

This event is dedicated to the memory of Hannah Busoni, the composer’s daughter-in-law, who inspired and encouraged me when I was a young student in New York City.

Florence Price’s Piano Concerto in One Movement (1934). The program will be recorded for Canadian nationwide broadcast on the CBC.

Duo recital with the magnificent violinist Stephanie Chase. We will perform works of Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Kreisler and others; and featuring the towering Sonata for Violin and Piano of Richard Strauss, and the “Sonata Española” of Joaquín Turina.

I am truly thrilled to perform one of the most beautiful and evergreen Piano Quintets of the chamber music repertoire, by French composer Reynaldo Hahn (1874-1947), in my première performance with the marvelous Kontras Quartet of Chicago. The concert is free to the public and will be broadcast live on Chicago’s WFMT-FM. Don’t miss this rare bonbon!

Another delightful duo-piano recital by myself and my TU colleague Charles Abramovic. Highlight of the program is Maurice Ravel’s sumptuous arrangement of Claude Debussy’s “Trois Nocturnes,” for two pianos.

Sunday afternoon performance at 3:00 p.m., at Rock Hall, 1715 North Broad Street.

“Rooted in America” is the title of this exceptional concert, on which I will play George Gershwin’s Second Rhapsody along with solo works of Artie Mathews and Margaret Bonds. The orchestra is conducted by Andrew Grams, and the program is dedicated with love and gratitude to my dear friend, the late Michael Morgan (1957 – 2021).

The New Year of 2023 begins with a performance of one of my lifelong favorite Piano Concertos — the first, in E minor op. 11, by Frédéric Chopin. And it will be conducted by one of my favorite maestra, Tania Miller.
