My second consecutive season at this historic music festival, with plenty of solo and chamber music appearances with illustrious colleagues including violinist Stephanie Chase. Music of Beethoven, Bernstein, Nadia Boulanger, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, Rossini, Saint-Säens, and others.
Bernstein’s “Age of Anxiety,” in honor of the composer’s 100th birthday, with legendary conductor Kazuyoshi Akiyama.
Solo Piano Recital. Works by Mozart, Chopin, Kouji Taku and George Gershwin.
All-Japanese program of piano music by Yukiko Nishimura, Kouji Taku and Yoshinao Nakada; with special guest, mime dancer Yayoi Hirano in her choreographed interpretation of Ibert’s “Histoires,” with Japanese carved masks.
Concert of new music by Curt Cacioppo. I will play his “Variations on Hail to the Chief” with pianist and Temple colleague Charles Abramovic.
