Past Performances

I will give a lecture about the life, work and legacy of pianist Alberto Jonás (1868 – 1943), author of the “Master School of Modern Piano Playing and Virtuosity” and longtime pedagogue in New York City and at Philadelphia’s Coombs College of Music. The re-publication of Jonás’ essential 7-volume pianistic treatise was my first reprint project for Dover Publications as chief music editor in 2010.

The lecture will be followed by a Master Class.

Both events at Rock Hall, Temple University, at Broad Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
